Tip #3 for sales and life

Whether you are a sales person or someone that simply relates to others in your daily activities here is the next tip in the series originally focused on sales, but found good for everyday life!
If you are in sales, define sales as discovering the need, want, or dream of your customer and then help them fulfill that need, want, or dream. When you sell, or are listening to someone listen differently. Most people listen so they can respond when you come up for air. Listening is more effective if you listen to understand what the other person is saying, not how you are going to respond. Try it!

Now for the tip, Listen to find out what the other person wants (not how you are going to respond).
Then, help him (or her) find the BEST way to get it. Best for your customer, not the best for you.
Along these lines, the best salespeople I’ve met are setting up sales and selling five or six or more
sales into the future.

“There is only one way under heaven to get anybody to do anything. Yes, just one way.
And that is by making the other person want to do it. Remember, there is no other way.” ~
